Let It Ride

Let It Ride (also called “Let Them Ride” or “Let Em Ride”) is a casino game that combines a dab of poker with a pinch of gambling to give us a game that is 100% fun.

It was invented in 1993 and has quickly become one of the most widely recognized casino card games in the world.

Just like all casino poker games, Let It Ride differs from traditional poker in the fact that it is played against the house, not against other players. This means that you don’t have to square off against other players but you do have to compete against a small house advantage. The good news is that Let It Ride offers very generous payouts if you catch the right hands.

Note – this game is slightly different than Let ‘Em Ride.

Let It Ride vs. Let Them Ride vs. Let Em Ride

Let It Ride goes by three different nicknames because the original “Let It Ride” is a trademarked game. A company called Shuffle Master first developed Let It Ride and owns the name of the game and the logo. The rules of the game have often been duplicated, but the name of the game is off limits to anyone that doesn’t pay Shuffle Master.

Not surprisingly, there are a lot of casinos out there that don’t want to pay royalty fees for the simple use of a game. Rather than spending the extra money, these casinos simply call it “Let ‘Em Ride” or “Let Them Ride” and continue on with business as usual. This is most often seen among online casinos. Brick and mortar casinos usually pay the royalty fees and call it “Let It Ride.”

Let It Ride Overview

Let It Ride is a relatively slow paced and pressure-free game. In this game, you place three equal bets on the table and receive three cards face up. After you look at your cards, you get to decide if you wish to take back your first bet or “let it ride.”

The dealer then deals two cards face down in the middle of the table. These cards will eventually be combined with your cards to make your final five card poker hand. The dealer then reveals one card and gives you an option to take back your second bet or “let it ride.” After that, the final card is revealed and you are paid if you end up with a pair of 10s or better.
